Welcome to the School of Geography

The School of Geography at the University of Nottingham is one of the strongest both nationally and internationally.

The School was ranked 6th in the UK on a measure of Research Power in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise, and ‘excellent’ in the Higher Education Funding Council for England assessment of teaching provision.

Geography at Nottingham provides a stimulating environment for students and staff alike based on high standards of innovative teaching and research. It is based on the spacious and attractive University Park campus. The Head of School is Professor Andrew Leyshon.
