Welcome to the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at The University of Nottingham. 

We are one of the largest Schools in the university and one of the largest Schools  nationally dedicated to teaching and research in languages, area studies, cultural studies, media, film and communications. We have over 1,500 students and over 120 teaching and academic staff.

Our School is made up of six academic departments plus the University Language Centre.

Over 85% of our research was rated of international quality in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise .
